Your Legacy Matters
Your Story Matters
You are the Story Tellers
We are a small team of Anthropologists and filmmakers dedicated to preserving authentic story telling and self-directed narratives.

SHARING SMALL STORIES
TO MAKE A BETTER WORLD
History is like an iceberg: commonly, we are only presented the top ten percent while the majority of the story lies underneath. The residents of "Five Points can teach us what it is to be alive. Authentically alive."
No Legacy Lost is guided by the principle understanding that we are not the story tellers; you are.
On the surface this may seem like a simple catch phrase; another marketing line. To us, it is a deep responsibility and obligation to your story.
We are specialists in visual anthropology and linear ethnography. It is our job to support you in being able to present your authentic story.
We are specialized in qualitative research and visual anthropology. We seek to blend traditional story telling in a digital age.
An important concept in anthropology is called 'agency'. Human beings are active participants in the world they inhabit and create; agency is the free will and ability to craft one's own life. By focusing on the community's agency, we looked to communicate their own vision of their life.
The nature of agency makes communities rich and diverse.
Rather than one voice, communities speak as a chorus, and visual anthropology provides a way to capture that chorus.
This film is meant to feel like you're sitting across a kitchen table, hearing your grandparents tell you stories.
In A Sense of Self - Growing Up in Five Points, we intentionally limited the use of music and photographs. (The DVD includes a slide show of photographs as a special feature.)
Research shows that up to 70% of our understanding of meaning derives from visual cues, facial expressions, and inflection. By focusing on the faces of the community we hope you reach your own understanding and meaning of these stories.
